A Brief History of the International Radio Forum

the First Forum

The first International Radio Forum was held in April 1999 and was welcomed by many authorities and scholars in the field of radio. The most important issues addressed at this meeting were:

  2. The upcoming Wave of Radio Programs
  3. Radio and the Family
  4. Media Management
  5. The Impact of Radio on Public Life
  6. Progress of the Radio in Western Asia
  7. Roundtable on Content, Technology and Policy-Makers' Challenges

And finally, the Sixth International Radio Forum will be held on April 2019 with the participation of radio experts and practitioners in cooperation with the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU). The Sixth Forum aims to produce media research in order to enhance radio programs using research and development in radio programming and management.

About Us

The International Radio Forum is an opportunity for interchanging views and thoughts among Radio operators and authorities from different countries. It is an opportunity which can lead to the growth and prosperity of the views and thoughts in the unique field of Radio. The Radio of the Islamic Republic of Iran has held five rounds of the International Radio Forum, with the following objectives and missions:


  1. Maintaining and improving the position of Radio in the media sector
  2. Creating a consistent community of scholars for Radio's future development
  3. Raising the role of the Radio in the age of the Globalization
  4. Strengthening the Radio's scientific basis

  3. Interchanging thoughts and scientific notions among the contributors
