Strategies of Radios in Dealing with Digital Media

Given the emergence of digital media, questions have now arisen with managers and staff of radio channels as to how these new technologies as well as different tools associated with them should be used to sustain the presence and influence of these radio outlets. There are two ways to tackle these challenges. In one viewpoint, it is believed that the progress made in the communications domain and emergence of new media outlets together with social networks has a negative impact. In this view, these networks are mushrooming, which is seen as a threat to the sustenance of the existence of radios in the future. But in the second viewpoint, technological developments in the communications domain are regarded as an opportunity for radios. This opportunity can be provided through conducting precise surveys, strategic planning and research work. This could secure opportunities to better utilize radios and allay the existing concerns over the future of these media outlets. These technological developments create an opportunity for radios to make a stronger presence in the domain of media, and overcome major threats and challenges to the existence of radios.

It is an opportunity which can lead to the growth and prosperity of the views and thoughts in the unique field of Radio.
