Wim Moortgat, Radio has evolved from an audio-only medium to a 360° experience where audio is no longer the only expression. The radio brand now includes social, web, video and events as well.

 

In coming years, technological changes will generate more new user behaviour by our listeners, while also providing new possibilities in the production processes.

New digital platforms will offer a larger amount of content to our listeners/customers. They will have a broader choice of content in the future and will become more demanding in receiving the right content in an appealing way. Curation and convenience in production/distribution will become increasingly important.
On the production side, new technologies will enable more possibilities. Examples are the increasing bandwidth of (mobile) networks, artificial intelligence (with speech and face recognition) and cloud services. Since we need to produce more content for multiple platforms, these technologies will enable us to create more efficient and flexible workflows.

During the workshop, we will talk about the evolution of these technologies, particularly in the production/distribution of radio and the benefits for our radio stations.

About Us

The International Radio Forum is an opportunity for interchanging views and thoughts among Radio operators and authorities from different countries. It is an opportunity which can lead to the growth and prosperity of the views and thoughts in the unique field of Radio. The Radio of the Islamic Republic of Iran has held five rounds of the International Radio Forum, with the following objectives and missions:

  3. Interchanging thoughts and scientific notions among the contributors
  4. Congratulating new plans and ideas in the field of the Radio
  5. Create the necessary motivation for the agents in the field of Radio programming
